Another Good Day!

We had another beautiful day here in sunny florida.  We did have some rain off and on all day but it sort of cooled things off.  Got some shrubery cut back and put some fertilizer around all my plants.  Our place is looking so good.  I am looking forward to planting some    pretty flowering shrubs whe we get back.

A NEW BEGINNING!

I cannot believe how time flies by so quickly!  Decisions made and then quickly your life changes in a heartbeat.  All for the good I hope.  We made a decision a few short weeks ago to make our lives much simpler by putting our home up for sale and moving into our little cottage.   We only had it on the market two days when it sold.  We had three weeks to move from a 2100 sq foot house to a 750 sq foot cottage.  It was a huge challenge but we have made it.   We got rid of so much stuff and still have plenty.   We still have things to do to the cottage but nothing urgent.  We are leaving for Salua N.C. to our other home sunday morning.   We are so blessed!  We are going to rest rest rest...  Oh but those leaves will be coming down very soon and will be crying to be raked.  

Hope to make this blog a good habit and write more often.   Whoever said "less is more" is definately right!

Here we are back in Saluda N.C.

Doesn't take long to get here.  Just a 10 hour drive and we are in another world....  Our little cottage looks so good to us..  We have only been gone 3 months but it seems like longer.  Spring is slowly coming to the mountains.  Redbud is in bud, white pear trees in full bloom (so beautiful), Forsynthia in bright yellow blooms.  Jonquils blooming as well as buds on the Azalias.  We have so many little purple violets in our yard.  Wish I could preserve them all.  Another thing is something I think they call periwinkle. Its a blue flowering ground cover and of course the many, many birds calling every morning and evening.  Weather is beautiful today... Sunny afternoon around 72...  Here are a few pictures I took a few minutes ago...

I meant to do my work today, but a brown bird sang in the apple tree, and a butterfly flitted across the field, and all the leaves were calling me. Where does the time go???

Can't believe it is already March.  Time flies when you are having fun so they say...  We have been so busy putting our little cottage on the market.  Today we signed the contract and Larry has finished all the moving of his workshop, my slat house and all the little things we had to do to put the house up for sale.   

Larry's grandmother and grandfather moved from New Jersey in 1939 to live for the next 60plus years in this little cottage.  Larry's mother brought him to Melbourne in 1944 and he has walked across his this threshold a million times visiting his grandmother.  This is a bittersweet moment for him but it is time.

A perfect day..

It is probably always a perfect day whe you get to do only what you like.  1st to Starbucks, then to Lowes for a few plants.  Work in the flower beds all morning getting rid of those pesky weeds. Lunch and rest then back to planting.  Looks good for now.

Instead of Monday it is Now day!

Today was a very good day. Good news from the dentist regarding my husbands tmj... We will see how this plays out but for now he is much relieved. As for me it was also a very good day. Out to lunch and then play time in my art room. Made some very nice background papers for my journals. I think I did succeed today in being in the now. Funny how some days it is easier than others. My Dad continues to hang onto life. How he does it I don't know. He just can't seem to let go. Even tho he is totally bedridden and all that goes with it he still hangs on and thinks he will get better. As for me I hope whsn I am at that point I will surrender to death. BE STILL AND KNOW..

Food for thought..

As I watch the day unfold I am drawn to the patterns of my life which are seemingly the same. How do we change this perception? Is it only a perception? Eckert Tolly says "The only thing that matters is this: Can I

This morning we woke up to chilly weather...Good coffee drinking time.. My view out the window this morning looks upon a bright blue sky with wispy white clouds drifting way up high. Bright red cardinal eating his breakfast of seeds at the feeder. Yellow leaves from the mulberry tree slowly drift to the ground joining the oak leaves already there. Mr. Woodpecker has quickly stopped in for a seed or two and off he goes. One lonley dove sits patiently in a limb awaiting his turn. Now we have a blue jay, momma cardinal, and two fighting doves. All wanting to be first.. That seems to be what a lot of people want, to always be first instead of stepping back and realizing we will all get there when we are supposed to.

ITS A GOOD DAY TO START A BLOG... FRIDAY THE 13th

New computer... New blog...  We will see how this goes...  Jane Powell is my inspiration.  She is always so upbeat and always has great ideas for getting started on your creative journal..  Can't wait until I get back to Saluda for a class or two.

Going for lunch at Captain Haram's in Sebastian with my hubby Larry, and my sister Carol  and brother-in-law C.E.    Hope the weather continues to be good so we can dine outside...
